Hello Scooter Folks - Since last month I have been sick for 3
wks (flu) & the cold weather (broken record) - not much to write about. This
is not motorcycle related but a very cool event on Feb 28th - Brother John &
I went to the Annual Machine Gun
Shoot held at the Hernando Sportsman's Club. We had a great time - I never
realized that there were so many automatic weapons around. The targets were mini
vans. They fired for about an hour & stopped so everyone could go see - very
eye opening - if you happen to go, make sure you take eye & hearing
protection. On Sat. March 13th I rode to the Thunder Inn in Hernando Fl. for the
first time all Shovelhead
Ride. When I pulled into the parking lot I was surprised to see several
Shovelheads already there. I met Steve the owner of the Thunder Inn in the
parking lot & we talked about the run & how good the weather was - a
great guy. Inside the bar I noticed the orange & black walls (HD colors).
Also a full liquor bar so you can have whatever, lots of parking & away from
everyone. At about 11:30am
everyone got ready to leave. After they were all running we were off to Bubba's
Fin & Feathers for a stop for chili & refreshments, then back on
the road again. With a quick gas stop we rode to Cedar Key. A great ride - sunny
sky's, warm temp's & 17 shovelheads' running
down the road. I have not seen this many running shovel's in one spot
since the late 80's. After lunch at Cedar Key, we started to head back with a
stop at Scooterhaven for a break & cool refreshment's. Then back on the road
again to the Thunder Inn. Everyone got back safe & with only a few minor
problems, that good ole American ingenuity couldn't fix. Steve had burgers, dogs
& fixings at the bar for all that rode. This run was set up by Dean &
was very well done - he kept everyone informed about stops, riding
procedures & even a chase
vehicle w/trailer - good job Dean. Everyone young & old had a good
time. So the next time your in Hernando stop by the Thunder Inn & check out
the Next event they are having. By the time you read this I hope the weather is
warm & the bike nite's pickup again. Until next time - Ride Safe & Have
Fun - Milkie
March 2010
Hello scooter folks - The last time I wrote, the cold weather was a big issue with the bike nites. So on the 23rd of Jan. Don V, John C and I rode up to Mike's friendly Pub in Homosassa for a great ride in bike show & party. The weather cooperated with some warmth and a good time was had by all. On the 26th John & I went to Venom Custom Cycles in New Port Richey for bike nite but a brisk night kept a lot of people away but 25 or so bikes still braved the cold night. On the 31st, I rode down to Clearwater for the 12th annual Florida Motorcycle Expo & Bike Builder Invitational. This is a good event with a ride in bike show outside & inside a huge vendor area with the Invitational bikes upstairs. There were rider's to radical - some very interesting motorcycle's - again a very cool day. On Feb. 8th my friend Rick & I went to Joe's Cigar Bar in N.P.R. for The Big Ragoo's 1st bike nite there. But again a very cold nite kept people away - the one's that showed up had a great time, with the adult games and good music. This should be a real good bike nite. I hope by the time you read this that the weather will be nice & warm so we can enjoy these bike nite's. Until then stay warm, be safe & enjoy. "Milkie"
