Since my last lines from two months ago, I have been gettin
the local low down on some of the "bitchin" biker
spots. Some are relatively new, But most have been around quite a
long time. And I tell ya, I sure have missed the scenery after soo
many years!
Fourth of July weekend, Sassy and I took an awesome ride out
the Ortega Highway (Route 74) from San Juan Capistrano to
Hell"s Kitchen www.hellskitchen-ca.com and
The Lookout. Both perched high above Lake Elsinore.
The "Ortega" takes you from a little above sea level to
about 3000ft. above. The road is a constant uphill ride full of
twisties, with scenery straight from a post card!
The first stop was Hell's Kitchen. This is a fairly new
establishment.(at least new to me) The place sets in a canopy of
oaks, with front and rear patios and a small inside bar and
eatery.Easy atmosphere and cold beer! Did I mention it was nearly
100 degrees that day! Of course Sassy had to check out the
clothing vendors.
Next stop was The Lookout.Only a few miles up the road.I have been
to this establishment many, many times in years gone by. What A
view! This is a popular stopping off point on the Ortega. People
stop for the view, and of course, a cold beverage of choice!
